Comments: I really enjoy reading the old "Stuff" from bye gone days on the "Mill Hill". I lived in Avondale for most all my pre adult life and graduated from Tri-High in 1951. Having played Basketball, Baseball, and Six Man Football at Tri-High, I got to know a great many of the guys from Cliffside and considered them friends. One of the fondiest memories I have during those years was walking to Cliffside on Saturdays and Coach Gerrad Davidson would open up the gym and let all who wanted, play basketball. (Still remember those fan type metal backboards). After that, we would all walk down to the river and swim and swing on the old rope swing tied to a large oak tree that had limbs protruding out over the water.(great fun)I can still remember a great many of those I came in contact, but not all. Red Humphries, the Bridges twins, Claude and George, Sweat Swing, Bud Crow, Pick Biggerstaff, Ed Scruggs,Danny Wortman. I could go on, but I have taken too much space now. After graduation from Appalachian State, my wife and I moved to Florida, were I taught school and coached football for 34 years. We still live here, but sometimes I get to dreaming and loinging for the "Good Ole Days" They were good mostly because we were all young and full of energy. Miss all of you and hope someday to visit the reunion and share some of the old memories with you. Take Care, Jim Williams

Comments: I grew up in Henrietta, this was the most interesting
web site that i have found for these areas. I used to walk to the movies in cliffside. I really appreciate the history of Henrietta. I lived in the big house across from the Henrietta mill. There are a lot of found memories.I graduated from Tri-High school in 1955.
I would like to hear from people that grew up there.

Comments: I was so thrilled to find the photo album provided by Mack Hendrick. I am his granddaughter and started searching the internet one night for information on family history. The album is fantastic! I especially love the pictures of Maurice, Lela, and Harry. Thank you for making this information accessible online.

Comments: I was saddened to learn that two of my High School buddies(Chase Class of 1962)and the father of another have passed away. Wayne Gardner, Roger Jolley and J.D. Johnson(father of Ted, Steve and Beth)recently passed.I have many great memories of all of them. They all were a credit to our community.Do you realize that Chase High is now older than Cliffside High?
